Origins of the animals :

  • Must be born and raised on a certified farm (raising location must only be in Québec).
  • The raising of big game must take place in a healthy environment that suits their natural, wild behaviours.
  • Raising takes place mainly in the open air.
  • A livestock producer must adhere to a feeding guide signed by a professional.
  • The feed is free of growth accelerators, as well as animal meal and animal fat.
  • The use of urea and antibiotics in subtherapeutic concentrations and dosage is prohibited.
  • The identification and traceability of animals from the farm to the table is mandatory. The livestock density is limited.
  • Reproducing males must be pure-blood.
